Hare Brooch Romano-British 2nd Century

A faithful reproduction a 2nd Century Romano-British bronze brooch in the form of a hare. The original Hare Brooch was dated to the 2nd Century. Roman women were very fond of small animal or bird brooches cast in bronze and delicately enamelled in a variety of colours. This brooch is based on one the the most favoured designs. Several examples of this type of brooch have been found at sites of Roman occupation.
